Value in Betting NFL Overs and Unders.
A lot of people like to wager on “Future’s” for the NFL’s total number of wins. Obviously, certain teams will win more games then others. But can you get value in betting Overs and Unders? ABSOLUTELY. Just looking at the Divisions, you get a good feeling who should be on top come January. The Colt’s, Saint’s, and Charger’s are all slated to win 10 ½ games. They are all great teams, but in today’s league, winning 11 games is tough. An injury to Manning, Brees, or Rivers changes everything. Then there are the bottom rung teams like Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Oakland. All four teams are at 5 ½ total wins. Difficult number. Anyone can get lucky a few weeks. Plus, sweating for teams to lose can drive you crazy. Here are four teams that I find to have a lot of value betting on;
Chicago Bears UNDER 7 ½ wins +135.
I don’t care who they traded for. This team still has a bad coach, an interception-prone QB, and must face Division rivals Minnesota and Green Bay twice each. This team will not finish .500. Take the UNDER.
Cincinnati Bengals OVER 8 ½ wins -110.
This is a squad that won 10 games a season ago. They have a steadily progressing QB, solid running game, and a good schedule. I like them to win more then 8 ½ games. Take the OVER.
Philadelphia Eagles OVER 8 ½ wins -105.
This team won 11 games last year, including 6 in a row towards the end of the season. Clearly, Dallas is the strongest team in the NFC East, but Philly can handle both New York and Washington. A lot of pride and great fans tell me to Take the OVER.
Pittsburgh Steelers UNDER 8 ½ wins -110.
This team didn’t make the playoff’s last season for a reason. This year, they lost some key personell on offense. Being without Big Ben for the first 4 weeks is bad enough, but he will be rusty when he gets back. He won’t be the answer to their prayers right away. Add to the equation that they are sharing the Division with Baltimore and Cincinnatti, does not bode well for the Steeler’s. Take the UNDER.
There you have it, sportsfans. Good luck, and make sure to take advantage of all my winning plays each week this season. It will be my best season ever. Thank you. Joe D’Amico
