Sean’s NFC East Conference Preview by Sean Higgs

First stop in the NFC finds us the belly of the beast. The NFC b-EAST! Are the Giants healthy? Is Romo finally go to win a ‘big’ game? Is RGIII healthy? What will the ‘Oregon Offense’ look like in Philly?

1. NEW YORK GIANTS – NYG gets the nod here basically by default of the next team. I think Tom Coughlin is a HOF HC. In my eyes, the guy is an under-the-radar gem on the sidelines. The guy has 2 Super Bowl rings. But I think people forget this guy took the Jaguars to the AFC Championship in their 2nd year in the league. Enough of him. The offense should be fine. The questions are on defense. 31st in the league last year. That must improve if they have want to play a home game Super Bowl.

2. DALLAS COWBOYS – As the norm with this team, plenty of talent and playmakers on both sides of the ball. The knock on Romo is he can’t win a big game. Ok, I get it. But the guy does have better numbers then the guy in front of him with 2 rings. Problem is he rarely has a defense and last year played without a run game. The defense was injured and depleted last year. A new scheme is in place with the old schooler Monte Kiffen taking over. HC Jason Garrett gives control of the offense over to Bill Callahan. Maybe he gets the best from Romo. This team could be 1st or 3rd depending on the..

3. WASHINGTON REDSKINS – .. Health of RGIII’s knee. It is the knee that launched a thousand questions! I think this team over-achieved last year. And will RGIII a hit away from the sidelines, I think a small step back is expected. The defense is good enough to keep them contenders in this always crazy division.

4. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES – I’ll be honest. I just don’t trust coaches fresh off the college trenches. We have seen CFB coaches do well. But I think Chip Kelly might fall into the Steve Spurrier mold. A flashy, tricky college offense comes to the NFL. Jimmy Johnson brought speed to the NFL from Miami. Not sure if the speedy-Oregon style will work here. They will still win some games, but I can’t see them claiming the NFC East.
