Report: Hernandez linked to drug trafficker by The Sports Network

Miami, FL (Sports Network) – Washington Nationals pitcher Livan Hernandez is reportedly being mentioned and linked in the trial of Puerto Rican drug dealer Angel Ayala Vazquez.

The Miami Herald is reporting that evidence presented at the trial state that several properties of Vazquez’s are under the name of Hernandez, including several cars and a warehouse in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

The story went on to say that a source in Puerto Rico stated that Hernandez has not been charged with anything, only that his name came up in the trial along with several others who are linked with the drug dealer.

It also stated the U.S. district attorney for Puerto Rico Rosa Emilia Rodriguez said in a news conference that staff members from the office of baseball commissioner Bud Selig will travel to Puerto Rico soon to examine any evidence against Hernandez.

The 36-year-old Hernandez has been in baseball for the past 16 seasons and has played for Florida, San Francisco, Montreal/Washington, Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado and the New York Mets.
