Odds to Win the Super Bowl and the Value in Betting on it. By Joe D’Amico

The popularity surrounding proposition bets on teams to win the Super Bowl has risen over recent years. It used to be that the occasional Las Vegas visitor would put $20 on their favorite team to win the Super Bowl. It seems that these days, just about everyone makes a long term wager on a team to win it all. I personally like my money where it belongs… In my pocket. I don’t make long term bets to win the Super bowl. But like I said, it has become widely accepted among the general public.

However, I don’t mind making some “value” bets on Super Bowl futures when playoff time comes around. You only lock up your money for a month or so and in some cases can get some very good odds.

            Below are the current odds to win the Super Bowl;

New England     6/5

Atlanta               9/2

Pittsburgh          9/2

Chicago             6/1

Philadelphia      7/1

Green Bay         8/1

New Orleans     8/1

Baltimore         10/1

Indianapolis     15/1

New York        25/1

Kansas City     30/1

Seattle             75/1

-There really isn’t too much value in the New England “prop.” You are better off betting them for a single game.

-Atlanta and Pittsburgh are both 9/2 and both certainly have a strong shot at the Title.

-The middle of the pack has Chicago, Philadelphia, Green Bay, and New Orleans. All solid teams with a real chance to take it all.

-Then there is Baltimore at 10/1 and Indianapolis at 15/1. With the Ravens, I see a lot of value for your buck. Indy is plagued with injuries but has been there before and with Peyton Manning, anything is possible.

-The Jets are at 25/1 and although there is value in them, New York must go through Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and New England before even getting to the big show.

-Then there is Kansas City and Seattle. Anything is possible but only Chiefs and Seahawks fans are going to play them.

I look for value when betting any “prop” bets. Otherwise, you can make just as much in the short term betting an individual game.

There you have it. No matter what you do, have fun. But it’s always more fun when you are making money. The only way to ensure a profit is to follow a proven winner like myself.

Thank you. Good luck. Joe D’Amico
