“NFL owners and players continue to be engaged in confidential discussions before Chief Magistrate Judge [Arthur] Boylan. Both sides met again this week as part of ongoing court mediation. Those discussions are expected to continue,” the statement said.
The sides met last week near Chicago, and according to the NFL Network, they got together Wednesday to conclude two days of talks.
NFLPA head DeMaurice Smith is representing the players at the meetings, along with retired center Kevin Mawae, Colts center Jeff Saturday, Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel, Jets fullback Tony Richardson and Ravens cornerback Domonique Foxworth.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and five owners — the Panthers’ Jerry Richardson, the Chiefs’ Clark Hunt, the Patriots’ Robert Kraft, the Giants’ John Mara and the Chargers’ Dean Spanos — were there to represent the league.
