On Saturday in the first of the two Divisional Round games we have Seattle fresh off a pair of upset home dog wins traveling to Chicago to take on the rested NFC North champion Chicago Bears. These two have already met this year and Seattle despite all their road struggles this season was able to escape with a hard fought 23-20 victory. In that game the SeaHawks managed to win the stat battle by right around 50 yards in a game where there was no turnovers by either side. Most impressive was how they shut down the Chicago Run game. The Bears are in off a hard fought loss to Green Bay in a game where coach Lovie Smith as promised played his starters to the end. Chicago gets their Home rematch on Saturday. On Saturday night its perhaps the best game of the weekend as Green Bay storms into Atlanta off their first road playoff win since 1997. The Packers never relinquished the lead in a 21-16 win over the Eagles. This game is also a rematch as Green Bay lost a tough one in Atlanta 20-17 in a game they dominated in the stats by 120+ yards. In that game the Packers had several chances deep in the Red zone and were held at bay by a stubborn Falcons defense that stopped the Packers 4 times in one series at the 1 yard line. Atlanta is the #1 seed which is historically a solid spot in the NFC. The Falcons are 6-0 straight up and against the spread vs NFC North teams while the Packers are 0-6 straight up and against the spread vs NFC South teams. Ill have further analysis on this one later in the week. On Sunday afternoon The Ravens go back to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers. The First time they were here they won by a narrow margin. The Steelers later returned the favor in Baltimore with a late come from behind win. This series has been an all out war the past few seasons with each of the past 6 games decided by 4 points or less. Both these teams know what to expect and their will be no surprises. This game will come down to execution and turnovers. The Ravens were able to capitalize on 5 KC turnovers on Sunday en route to a 30-7 win. While this will be a much tougher spot the Ravens are battle tested and the Steelers having a bye week to prepare is not as significant as some of the other home teams with the same luxury. The Steelers do however have better stats on both sides of the ball. There will be plenty more on this one after we scour it through the database. Stay Tuned. Finally the last game of the week pits the #1 team in the NFL the New England Patriots taking on their division rival New York Jets. These two split the season series with each team winning at home. The Patriots demolished the Jets on Monday night football 45-3 to send a message that the road to the Super bowl will once again go through New England. The Jets were able to pull out a tough one in Indianapolis on Saturday and will be a heavy dog in this one. Rex Ryan in a move to take the pressure off his players says the match up is personal between him and Coach Belichick. As usual Belichick was tight lipped preferring to not offer up any bulletin board material. Jet Running back Ladanian Tomlinson promised the Patriots the Jets would be back, in the waning moments of that blowout loss last time around. Now we see how bad the Jets want to be here. The Patriots are in off 8 straight wins and a pair of blowouts. They will be tough to down with the Bye week, and not wanting another first round home loss similar to the one they suffered to Baltimore last year. The Current line on this one is 9 with the Jets taking some early action. Can the Jets slow down Brady and the Patriot offense. Find out later in the week. In Closing we have some solid games coming up this weekend. As ready for these high octane games.
