Mississippi (13-2) at Vanderbilt (6-8):
After being crushed by up tempo Arkansas 56-33 the Commies face Ole Miss on Tuesday. Currently, guard Kendren Johnson is listed as doubtful. Mississippi boards after defeating Mizzou 64-49. The Rebels have won 5 straight, while the Commies show at 1-4 SU. Techs show Ole Miss red hot in the SEC covering 7 of the last 8. Although Vanderbilt has taken 7 of 10 ATS at home, they are 0-5 ATS off a loss of 20 or more points.
Wisconsin (12-4) at Indiana (15-1):
As most hoop enthusiasts will tell you the Hoosiers were the odds on favorite to win the national championship. Currently, Indiana is ranked #2 with their only loss to A-10 entrant Butler (88-86) on the road. Wisconsin has won 10 straight in the series with an average margin of 14.8 points per game. The Badgers have covered 8 of 10 in the series. The opening over night line was -12 ½, but has been bet down to -11 ½ Indiana. Remember this is a solid Wisconsin club that brought back 4 starters from last year. Other technical notes indicate Wisky is 4-0 ATS in Bloomington.
Notre Dame (14-2) at St. John’s (9-7):
The Irish hoop group has surprised their followers with outstanding play winning 12 straight before dropping a road affair to UConn 65-58. The Huskies shot 50.9% from the field with an 8 rebound advantage. The Notre Dame opposition tonight St. John’s has lost back-to-back games to Georgetown and Rutgers. On average their last 4 losses have been by 9 points per game, averaging 67.9 points this season. The over night line opened at -4 ½ and as we write it is -6. The Johnnies have won 3 of the last 4 in the series. The Irish maybe the strong road favorite, but the home team is 5-1 ATS in the series. One final key technical note ND is a horrible 4-12 ATS off a SU loss.
Tennessee (8-6) at Kentucky (10-5):
The Wildcats have won 9 straight in the series after cruising last year 69-44 on this same floor. KU has a solid record, but show at 2-2 SU in their last four games. They did play #1 Louisville to the buzzer in an 80-77 loss. Further, their other blue-chip losses were to Duke 75-68 and Notre Dame 64-50. However, more disappointing was the KU (-15) 83-71 loss to the Aggies on Saturday. The Wildcats have no wins over teams in the top 75 RPI. Scary, the heralded Wildcats program may not make the NCAA tourney considering the low rating of most SEC teams. Tennessee is struggling this season, losing their last three to Memphis, Mississippi and Alabama. After a 19-15 season and four starters coming back, most of the early polls ranked UT in the top twenty-five. Techs indicate KU is 0-5 ATS L5 in the SEC. The Vols have covered 9 of 12 in conference. Kentucky has covered 7 straight vs. UT in Lexington.
Wake Forest (9-6) at Clemson (9-6):
The Tigers have won three straight in the series by an average of 15 points per game. Clemson is coming off a major 59-44 win over Virginia (11-5) Saturday. Further, the Tigers defense has been their key holding the opposition to 56.2 points per game. Wake Forest has a young group this season and we don’t expect them to diminish in this challenging road test. The Demon Deacons have covered 16 of 21 at Clemson with the road unit 11-4 ATS in the series. Clemson’s is 6-13 ATS at home and 1-6 ATS mark in the ACC. Gives you an indication the Deacons have a shot ATS.
Northern Iowa (9-8) at Creighton (16-1):
The Blue Jays came into the season off a 29-6 mark highly ranked in all the preseason polls and publications. They brought back 4 starters with an effective bench. Running at 16-1 SU (12-3 ATS) the NCAA Tourney has a valid commodity coming out of the MVC. Their only loss was to Boise State in late November. Northern Iowa brought back 4 starters from a 20-14, but the so far the campaign has been less than stellar. Over the last few years the Panthers have suffered on the road with a 4-10-2 ATS record. Home standing Creighton has cashed 12 of 15 overall, and 9 of 12 at home. The Panthers are 2-5 ATS in recent MVC games, while Creighton is 4-1 ATS in the same venue.
James Madison (9-8) at George Mason (9-7):
GM provided their fans with a spectacular 24-9 season. They are coming off a SU road loss to UNC Wilmington (-7) 82-74, and appear to be struggling. James Madison has won 6 of their last 8 after handling shorthanded Drexel 51-43. George Mason shows tonight at 5-1 ATS off a SU loss and a special 12-3 ATS on Tuesday’s. The visiting Dukes are 8-20 ATS in the series and 3-7 ATS at Fairfax. James Madison and George Mason are two of the three teams that have winning records in the CAA.
