Indians’ Hafner lands on DL with strained oblique by The Sports Network

The Cleveland Indians placed designated hitter Travis Hafner on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a strained right oblique.

The move is retroactive to May 18.

The Indians also optioned infielder Luis Valbuena to Triple-A Columbus, while recalling outfielder Ezequiel Carrera and pitcher Frank Herrmann from the Clippers.
