Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) – The Cleveland Indians placed pitcher Carlos Carrasco on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with inflammation in his right elbow.
The move is retroactive to April 25.
Carrasco has made five starts for the Indians this season, going 1-1 with a 4.97 earned run average. He left Sunday’s game against Minnesota after three innings with discomfort in the elbow.
In a corresponding move, the Indians recalled pitcher Frank Herrmann from Triple-A Columbus. Herrmann began the season in Cleveland and made four relief appearances prior to his demotion on April 13.
