Boston, MA (Sports Network) – The NHL’s Eastern Conference finals between the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning will open Saturday night at TD Garden.
Boston will host the first two games. The puck will drop on the opener of the best-of-seven series on Saturday night at 8 p.m. (et). Game 2 is slated for Tuesday, May 17 at 8 p.m.
The series will then shift to Tampa for Games 3 and 4. Game 3 will be Thursday night, May 19 at 8 p.m., while the teams will skate for Game 4 on Saturday afternoon, May 21 at 1:30 p.m.
Game 5, if necessary, will take place Monday, May 23 at 8 p.m. in Boston, while Game 6 would be back in Tampa at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25. A seventh game would take place in Boston at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 27.
The Bruins are in the conference finals for the first time since 1992 and have not played since finishing off the Philadelphia Flyers in a four-game sweep of their Eastern Conference semifinal series last Friday.
Tampa Bay has been idle since Wednesday, May 4 after completing a sweep of Washington in the conference semis. The Lightning will play in a conference final for the first time since 2004 when they went on to win their only Stanley Cup title.
