Collegiate players make decisions on draft status by The Sports Network

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) – Sunday night was the deadline for collegiate players to make decisions on whether to return to school or remain in the NBA Draft.

Many players made their decisions when they announced their intentions by signing with agents, but others waited until the final weekend.

Washington State’s Klay Thompson, the Pac-10’s leading scorer at 21.6 points per game, and Notre Dame’s Carleton Scott were among those who decided this past weekend to stay draft-eligible. Boston College guard Reggie Jackson also decided to remain in the draft.

Among those who decided to return to school were West Virginia’s Kevin Jones, Xavier’s Tu Holloway, Miami-Florida’s Reggie Johnson and Missouri’s Kim English and Laurence Bowers.

The NBA set a deadline of June 13 to withdraw from draft consideration, but May 8 was the date for players to retain their collegiate eligibility.
