Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) – Butler’s Shelvin Mack entered his name in the 2011 NBA Draft on Tuesday, but the junior guard has not hired an agent.
Mack helped lead the upstart Bulldogs to the national championship game for the second straight year, averaging 20.3 points in six NCAA Tournament games.
“I’m exploring my options and gathering information to see what opportunities might exist for me,” said Mack. “I’ve always had a dream to play in the NBA, and I want to make an informed decision on that possibility.”
The 6-foot-3 Mack finished last season as Butler’s second-leading scorer with 16.0 points per game. He also led the Bulldogs in assists with 131.
Mack has until May 8 to withdraw his name from consideration in order to maintain his college eligibility.
