Brewers place Saito on DL by The Sports Network

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) – Milwaukee placed reliever Takashi Saito on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

Saito, who has dealt with hamstring tightness in the past, was injured during the eighth inning of last week’s home opener against the Braves, as he allowed two home runs in an outing for the first time in his career to suffer the loss.

The DL assignment is retroactive to April 5.

The Brewers recalled pitcher Brandon Kintzler from Triple-A Nashville to fill Saito’s roster spot.
