Beltran to Miss Time With Knee Tendinitis by the Sports Network

Port St. Lucie, FL (Sports Network) – New York Mets right fielder Carlos Beltran will be sidelined for four or five days with tendinitis in his left knee.

According to MLB.com, Beltran indicates that the injury is the result of overcompensating while his right knee was injured.

He was limited to 81 games in 2009 because of his right knee, then underwent surgery in January 2010, which kept him out of the lineup until mid-July. He played in just 64 games last season.

Beltran is entering the final season of a seven-year deal he signed before the 2005 campaign.

The soon-to-be 34-year-old is a career .282 hitter with 280 home runs and 1,062 runs batted in over 13 seasons with the Royals, Astros and Mets.
