Arlington, TX (Sports Network) – Oakland Athletics left-hander Dallas Braden is scheduled to undergo surgery on Monday to repair a torn capsule in his throwing shoulder, the club announced on Wednesday.
The procedure will be performed by Mets medical director Dr. David Altchek in New York City.
The 27-year-old was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 18 because of a stiff left shoulder. He is 1-1 with a 3.00 earned run average in three starts this season.
Braden threw the 19th perfect game in big league history last May 9 and finished the 2010 campaign with a record of 11-14 and a 3.50 ERA in 30 starts.
