Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) – Alexi Ogando threw eight innings and remained unbeaten in his career while setting a Rangers record in Texas’ 11-2 rout of the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. Ogando (6-0) gave up only one run on four hits, striking out six and walking one. He hasn’t taken a loss in his first 11 starts, breaking the club record to start a career, previously held by Gerald Alexander (1990-91). Elvis Andrus went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Josh Hamilton had a 3-for-4 night with a three-run homer, and Nelson Cruz added two hits, including his 11th home run of the season to push the Rangers’ winning streak to three games. Adrian Beltre chipped in with three hits for Texas, winners in six of its last seven. Asdrubal Cabrera contributed three hits, including his 11th home run of the season, in a losing cause. Indians starter Justin Masterson (5-4) tossed 6 1/3 innings, giving up four runs on 10 hits to absorb the loss and send the Indians to their second consecutive defeat.

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) – J.P. Arencibia’s grand slam provided the Toronto Blue Jays with an 8-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles in the opener of a three-game series. Yunel Escobar went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI for a Jays club coming off a 4-3 homestand. Carlos Villanueva (3-0) was credited with the win, throwing 5 1/3 innings and getting charged with two runs on six hits. Zach Britton (5-4) had the shortest outing of his young career in the loss. The rookie left-hander and was roughed up for seven runs — five earned — on six hits and three walks over five innings. J.J. Hardy went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer for Baltimore, which began a nine-game homestand with its sixth loss in seven games.

Boston, MA (Sports Network) – Carl Crawford’s two-run hit in the seventh inning pulled the Red Sox ahead for good, as Boston got past Oakland, 8-6, in the opener of a three-game set from Fenway Park. David Ortiz collected two hits and drove in two runs, and Jarrod Saltalamacchia added a solo homer for the Red Sox, who snapped a four-game losing skid. Bobby Jenks (2-2) turned in one inning of scoreless relief for the win, and Jonathan Papelbon worked a perfect ninth to earn his 11th save. Daric Barton and Mark Ellis knocked in two runs each for the Athletics, who have lost four straight games. Joey Devine (0-1) was charged in defeat with two runs while recording two outs.

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) – Carlos Quentin belted a three-run homer while Juan Pierre and Brent Lillibridge also went deep, as the Chicago White Sox held off the Detroit Tigers for a 6-4 win in the opener of a three-game set. Mark Buehrle (5-4) got the win in six innings for the White Sox, who were coming off a three-game sweep of Boston at Fenway Park. The starter allowed three runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts. Casper Wells had a three-run homer for the Tigers, who had a four-game win streak snapped. Detroit starter Andy Oliver (0-1) was touched for four runs on six hits and five walks over 3 2/3 innings.

Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) – Carl Pavano went the distance to earn his 100th career victory, as Minnesota topped Kansas City, 5-2, in the second of four between the clubs at Kauffman Stadium. Pavano (3-5) turned in his first nine-inning complete game since July 22, allowing nine hits and two runs with four strikeouts. Denard Span and Drew Butera each drove in a pair of runs and Michael Cuddyer hit a solo homer for the Twins, who have won two straight after losing four in a row. Brayan Pena and Alex Gordon notched an RBI apiece for the Royals, losers in five of their last seven. Danny Duffy (0-1) was charged in the setback with three runs on seven hits over five full frames.
