Hamilton, NY (Sports Network) – Colgate University named Matt Langel head coach of the men’s basketball team on Monday.
Langel joins Colgate after spending the past five seasons as an assistant coach at Temple, which was coming off its fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
The 32-year-old Langel replaces Emmett Davis, who was released from his contract last month after the Raiders finished a disappointing 7-23 overall and 4-10 in the Patriot League this past season.
Davis compiled the most wins (165) in Colgate basketball history during his 13 seasons at the university.
