New York, NY (Sports Network) – New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant have been named the Eastern and Western Conference players of the week, respectively, for games played through April 10.
Anthony, who earned his second consecutive weekly honor, posted per-game averages of 28.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks as the Knicks went 4-0 during the week.
In Sunday’s 110-109 win over Indiana, Anthony hit a 19-foot jumper with 4.9 seconds remaining to put his squad in front for good. He finished with 34 points in the victory.
Durant led Oklahoma City to a 4-0 mark by averaging 30.0 points and 6.8 boards. He went for 31 points in Sunday’s 120-106 decision over the Lakers, the Thunder franchise’s first win over the Lakers in Los Angeles since March 12, 2006.
Other nominees were Denver’s Ty Lawson, Detroit’s Rodney Stuckey, Golden State’s David Lee, Memphis’ Zach Randolph, Miami’s LeBron James and San Antonio’s Tony Parker.
