Newark, NJ (Sports Network) – North Carolina won its 10th straight regional semifinal game going away, as Tyler Zeller highlighted a dominant frontcourt with 27 points and 12 rebounds in the Tar Heels’ 81-63 drubbing of Marquette in East Region action of the NCAA Tournament. The second-seeded Tar Heels (29-7) separated themselves from the 11th-seeded Golden Eagles with a 19-0 run in the first half and cruised to an Elite Eight meeting with Kentucky on Sunday. John Henson added 14 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks and Harrison Barnes chipped in 20 points and nine boards in the lopsided victory, North Carolina’s 12th in 13 games. Marquette (22-15) shot just 37 percent from the field, including a 2-for-16 effort behind the arc, and committed 18 turnovers to end its season on a miserable note. Davante Gardner led the team with 16 points off the bench.

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) – Brandon Knight hit his second game-winner of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, draining a mid-range jumper with 5.4 seconds remaining to lift fourth-seeded Kentucky to a 62-60 victory over top-seeded Ohio State in a seesaw thriller in the East Regional semifinals. Ohio State sharpshooter Jon Diebler hit a long straightaway three-pointer to tie the game, 60-60, with 23 ticks showing. Kentucky opted not to call a timeout and gave the ball to Knight, who hit an 18-footer prior to William Buford’s missed three at the buzzer. On Sunday, Kentucky will play another of college basketball’s preeminent programs in North Carolina. Josh Harrellson more than held his own against Jared Sullinger, scoring a team-high 17 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and recording three of Kentucky’s 11 blocks. DeAndre Liggins added 15 points for the SEC Tournament champion Wildcats (28-8), winners of nine straight. Sullinger finished with 21 points and 16 rebounds and Jon Diebler chipped in 16 points, but the Buckeyes (34-3) shot a mere 33 percent from the floor to fall for the first time in six tourney meetings with Kentucky.

San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) – Returning to the site of its last national championship, Kansas is now one victory away from a trip back to the Final Four. Brady Morningstar scored 18 points and the Jayhawks rolled to a 77-57 win over Richmond in the Southwest Regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament. Marcus Morris added 13 points and seven rebounds for the top-seeded Jayhawks (35-2), who also received 12 points and 14 boards from Thomas Robinson. Kansas will play Sunday against No. 11 seed VCU. Justin Harper had 22 points and nine rebounds for the 12th-seeded Spiders (29-8), who upended fifth seed Vanderbilt in its first game before topping No. 13 seed Morehead State. Kevin Anderson scored 13 in defeat.

San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) – Bradford Burgess scored a layup off a bounce pass from Joey Rodriguez with 7.1 seconds left in overtime, and 11th- seeded VCU made it to the Southwest Regional final of the NCAA Tournament with a dramatic 72-71 squeaker over No. 10 seed Florida State. The Rams (27-11) will next face Kansas, the lone remaining top-seeded team in the tourney. After Burgess’ basket, the Seminoles (23-11) had one last effort snuffed out. Derwin Kitchen drove to the right baseline, but passed to Chris Singleton. His shot was blocked by freshman Rob Brandenberg as the buzzer sounded. Burgess led the way with 26 points for the Rams, who also received 16 from Brandon Rozzell and 11 with eight boards from Jamie Skeen. Kitchen had 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Singleton totaled 16 points and nine rebounds in defeat.
