New York, NY (Sports Network) – Already blessed with the No. 1 overall selection, the Carolina Panthers have been awarded three compensatory picks for the NFL Draft.
The league announced 32 compensatory picks on Friday.
The selections, added to rounds 3-7, are handed out to teams that lost more or better compensatory free agents than it acquired in the previous year, up to a maximum of four.
The Panthers were the only team that received three picks — including the No. 97 overall choice — while the Titans, Ravens, Giants, Vikings, Chargers, Eagles and 49ers all received two.
Fifteen teams, including the Super Bowl-champion Packers, were awarded one pick. The Patriots, who got the maximum four picks last year, received none.
