Sean’s AFC West Preview by Sean Higgs

Our final AFC preview and we head out west.

1. DENVER BRONCOS – Well, Manning has plenty of pieces in place for a prolific year of stats. WR Wes Welker will be a nice addition to Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker. For me, the problem is on defense. They lost Dumervil and will have to make due without Von Miller for a few games. This is still a talented team and should win this division.

2. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS – I think this franchise needed Andy Reid like he needed out of Philly. The talent is there. This team was 2-14 and had 6 Pro-Bowlers. QB Alex Smith will be a great fit here. RB Jamaal Charles could be a beast in this offense.

3. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS – New HC Mike McCoy comes over from Denver. He had Tebow and Manning now gets Phillip Rivers. New OC Ken Whisenhunt has had success with Roethlisberger and Kurt Warner so I know he will get the most out of Rivers. I think there are still some questions with the WRs and the defense. But with Oakland residing here, the Chargers can sleep easy knowing they are not the worse team in division!

4. OAKLAND RAIDERS – Oh my goodness. Are you really serious with this team? New HC Dennis Allen is a maniac. So, they sign Matt Flynn, then bench him and turn the team over to Terrelle Pryor with a week to go in pre-season. They they cut their 4th round pick QB Tyler Wilson. At least they have Darren McFadden, who, if healthy is a pretty good RB. The defense nearly got a complete overall. Sorry Oakland. The rebuilding has begun. Again.
