Horse Sense by Steve Williams of aasiwins.com

Saturday, February 5th is the perfect day to escape from the winter weather. Nearly 70 % of the country is being affected by winter storms.  However, Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita Racetrack are running major stakes races tomorrow.

Gulfstream Park is the winter home for all the top jockeys, trainers, owners, and of course thoroughbred horses. This, of course means full field races and big payouts for bettors.  With three months until Kentucky Derby Day, the horse racing industry is beginning to turn their attention to which horses will make the normal 20 horse field and who will be the favorites.

I will be keeping you up to date on the Derby hopefuls and providing inside information on the Run for the Roses in the weeks to come here at Horse Sense at www.aasiwins.com.

Tomorrow Gulfstream Park features the Grade III, $150,000 Suwannee River Stakes and two Grade I Races.  The $300,000 Gulfstream Park Turf race and the feature race $500,000 Donn Handicap.

Santa Anita  provides us horse racing fans and handicappers with the $250,000 Grade I Las Virgenes Stakes for 3 year old fillies, Grade II  $200,000 Strub Stakes, and $100,000 Grade III Thunder Road Turf.

So Saturday, February 5th is filled with major races, and is a perfect day to escape the snow, ice, wind, and cold and head to your local track, casino, or off-track wagering facility.  To help you have a profitable day my free pick is at Gulfstream Park Race 7 (Suwannee River) run on the turf at 1 and 1/8 miles- I like the # 3 Cherokee Queen (4-1 odds) ridden by Alex Solis to get up for the win.

I will have a longshot winner and trifecta winner available for all callers to 888-853-7721.

Thank you and have a profitable day at the Track!
