NCAA Football LSU tops Alabama in 2013 BCS poll by The Gamin Today’s, Mark Mayer

The first lines for the 2013 BCS national championship game have Alabama and LSU again as the teams to beat.

However, it is national runnerup LSU listed ahead of champion Alabama. The Tigers are 4-1 at the LVH Super Book, while the Crimson Tide are second choice at 6-1. Southeastern Conference schools have had the past six national champions dating back to 2006.

The Pac 12 comes in next with Southern Cal at 7-1 and Oregon listed at 8-1. USC was not eligible for the BCS title or a bowl game last year due to NCAA violations but has been re-instated for the upcoming college football season.

Big 12 favorite Oklahoma is the other school in single digits at 8-1. SEC schools hold down four of the top eight futures rankings with Georgia at 12-1 and Arkansas at 15-1.

Wake Forest, South Florida, Arizona, UCLA and Boston College have the longest individual odds at 500-1 to win the national title. The field opened at 4-1.

The BCS championship game is slated for Monday, Jan. 7 of 2013 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
