Florida/Georgia; More Than Just a Rivalry by Joe D’Amico

Florida/Georgia; More Than Just a Rivalry

The SEC has always been an exciting conference no matter which sport we are talking about. In todays matchup, there is no love lost between these bitter rivals.

The Gators come in ranked 24th in the nation @ 15-4. The Bulldogs boast a record of 14-4. A basic breakdown of their numbers is as follows. Florida 15-4 SU, 6-9 ATS, 5-1 SU road, 4-1 SU conference, and outscoring foes by 10.4 PPG. Georgia 14-4 SU, 7-7 ATS, 9-1 SU @ home, 3-2 SU Conference, and outscoring opponents by 7.1 PPG.

Over their L10 meetings, Florida has covered 6. Last season, they split their 2 contests. Over their L3 games this season, the Gators lost to South Carolina 72-69, beat Auburn 45-40, and took down Arkansas 75-43. Georgia shredded Ol’ Miss 98-76, lost to Tennessee 59-57, and just destroyed Mississippi State 86-64.

The Bulldogs are soaring behind 6’10 Forward Trey Tompkins (17.4 PPG and 7.1 RPG) and Travis Leslie (14.7 PPG and 7.3 RPG). The Gators backcourt of Erving Walker and Kenny Boynton have teamed up for 26.5 PPG and 36 total steal on the season. Both squads are healthy. The numbers favor Georgia here. They are currently a 2 ½ point fav. The Home team is 4-0 ATS their L4 meetings. Georgia is 4-1 ATS their L5 overall. And, Florida is 5-2 ATS their L7 vs. teams with a winning record.

There is no love lost between these two storied schools. I am going to leave this game up to you. For all your NCAAB needs, check out all my money making winners right here. Thank you and Good Luck. Joe D’Amico
