Reasons to Play Pre-Season Football by Joe D’Amico

Hey sports fans, Joe D here. I want to go over a few reasons why playing pre-season football can be very lucrative and will allow you to go into the regular season with a bankroll.
Up until a few years ago, it was more effective flipping a coin during the pre-season than it was to doing your homework on a matchup. A few things have changed since then to make the exhibition season profitable.
For starters, coaches. Some new coaches bring in a new philosophy or want to establish a winning tradition right away while some coaches really couldn’t care less.
Next, many times the odds makers are unfamiliar with the day-to-day progress of certain players and certain teams. Thus, allowing for mistakes on the lines. There are also some new aspects to the power rating systems that the odds makers don’t apply until either the last game of the pre-season or the first week of the regular season. We are implementing them right know. This is why there is limited action on pre-season games. Some books know that they are vulnerable to a real beating so they put a cap on to the amount you can wager.
Then there is the starting player situation. Many times, the odds makers do not know the exact amount of snaps certain players will be playing. Is the starting QB going to play? Is he going to play one series? The same goes for the “A” squad or the “B” squad as well. Odds makers have no clue as to how long particular players will see action in a game. Our scouts get this information. We stay a giant step ahead of the odds makers right now.
Due to the lockout, some teams that have new players have to mesh before the regular season begins. Some teams’ offensive or defensive squads have been together for a while and are not in need of getting in sync.
Speaking of the lockout, some players stayed in shape and some have not. Teams that consist of specific starters that have not stayed in shape some times do not want the entire NFL to know this. Once again, our scouts truly know who is in shape and who is not.
Lastly (and I think most importantly), season ticket sales. If sales are down, going 0-4 will hurt the revenue of any team. Some coaches might be “instructed” to leave in their starters to ensure a winning pre-season, or at least a competitive one. This will result in more season ticket sales.
Well sports fans, there you have it. Follow me right here and you WILL start your regular season off with money in your pocket. Thank you and Good Luck, Joe D’Amico
