Bruins’ Recchi calls it a career by The Sports Network

After winning his third Stanley Cup on Wednesday night, Bruins forward Mark Recchi announced he is retiring.

Recchi, also a Stanley Cup champion with Pittsburgh and Carolina, had five goals and nine assists in 25 playoff games while helping the Bruins win their first championship since 1972.

The 43-year-old posted 14 goals and 34 assists in 81 regular-season games.

A seven-time NHL All-Star and, Recchi has played in 1,571 regular-season games over 22 seasons.

Recchi compiled 577 goals and 956 assists over 1,652 career games with the Penguins, Flyers, Canadiens, Hurricanes, Thrashers, Lightning and Bruins.
