Former Patriots LB Addison dies by The Sports Network

The New England Patriots announced on Wednesday that former linebacker Tom Addison passed away at the age of 75.

Addison was a South Carolina product first drafted by the NFL’s Baltimore Colts in 1958, then by the Ottawa Rough Riders in the CFL, before finding a home as an original member of the AFL’s Boston Patriots in 1960.

Over his eight-year career (1960-67), Addison played in 106 games and was an AFL All-Star for five straight seasons from 1960-64.

Addison’s most significant contribution to football came when he was chosen as the first president of the AFL players’ association in 1964.
