Jones decides to transfer from Arizona by The Sports Network

Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) – The University of Arizona announced on Monday that guard Lamont “MoMo” Jones has decided to transfer, though he has not decided on which school he will attend.

“I would like to thank my coaches, my teammates, and all of the U of A fans for making my two years at Arizona very special,” Jones said. “After much thought, I have decided to pursue my goals at a school closer to home. My desire to be closer to my family, and in particular, my grandmother, is the reason I am transferring.”

The 6-foot-6, 196-pound native of Harlem averaged nearly 10 points, 2.4 assists and 1.6 rebounds per contest in 38 games last season, his sophomore campaign, for the Pac-10 champion Wildcats.

Over his two year tenure in Tucson, Jones played in 68 games and racked up 8.3 points, 2.1 assists and 1.7 boards per game.
