Alabama OL Douglas passes away in Florida by The Sports Network

Tuscaloosa, AL (Sports Network) – Alabama offensive lineman Aaron Douglas passed away on Thursday.

The school stated that the 21-year-old junior passed away in Florida, but gave no further details.

“It is with tremendous sadness that we received the news of the passing of Aaron Douglas,” said Alabama athletic director Mal Moore. “Our prayers and sympathies are with the Douglas family at this tragic time.”

A Maryville, Tennessee native, Douglas transferred to Alabama this past January from Western Arizona Community College and had taken part in spring drills with the Crimson Tide.

He began his college career at Tennessee and earned Freshman All-America honors in 2009, then spent 2010 at Western Arizona Community College where he garnered NJCAA All-America recognition.
