Arlington, TX (Sports Network) – The Oakland Athletics promoted right-handed pitcher Trystan Magnuson from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.
Magnuson, who was acquired from Toronto in a deal that sent outfielder Rajai Davis north of the border in the offseason, was 0-1 with a 1.56 earned run average and three saves in 12 relief outings for Sacramento this season. This will be his first time on a big league roster.
To open a spot on the roster, the club optioned lefty Jerry Blevins to Sacramento. In 14 appearances out of the bullpen this season, he had a 4.61 ERA in 13 2/3 innings pitched.
